We are pleased to announce the CO-ADD Chemistry Prize, an online competition on Thinkable. The competition is open to all academic researchers and students worldwide, who can submit an abstract and an optional video on how chemistry can fight the war on superbugs and help find the next antibiotic. Four prizes will be awarded based on the diversity of compounds chemists can produce. We offer a prize pool of US$5,500 to go towards sample preparation costs. The entries will be judged by an international panel of chemists and microbiologists, and we also have a people's choice category. Closing date for applications: January 15, 2016. http://thinkable.org/competition/30 Contact: media@co-add.org

CO-ADD is a not-for-profit initiative led by academics at The University of Queensland. Our goal is to screen compounds from academic research groups from anywhere in the world for free, and utilise their chemical diversity to discovery novel compounds active against bacteria or fungi. We aim to engage and help researchers around the world to find new, diverse compounds to combat the superbug crisis. www.co-add.org
